Significance of Tulsi Vivah

According to Hindu belief, doing Tulsi marriage gives the same virtue as a daughter-in-law. Therefore, if someone has not donated a girl, he must get the virtue of donating a girl by doing Tulsi's marriage once in his life. According to the beliefs, the devotees who conduct Tulsi Vivah with rituals get happiness and good fortune. All the troubles go away and by the grace of Lord Vishnu, all the wishes are fulfilled. If there is a problem in someone's married life, then all the obstacles go away.

Why celebrate Tulsi Vivah?

According to the legend, once Mata Tulsi was angry with Lord Vishnu and cursed that you become a black stone. After which, to get rid of this curse, Lord Vishnu incarnated in the form of Shaligram stone and married Tulsi. Since then the marriage of Shaligram and Tulsi is celebrated as a festival.

The story behind Tulsi Vivah

In ancient times, there was a demon named Jalandhar, he had created a ruckus all over the earth. The secret of the valor of the demon was the virtuous religion of his wife Vrinda. It is said that due to his influence, he was always victorious. Disturbed by the terror of Jalandhar, sages and sages approached Lord Vishnu. After much deliberation, God decided to dissolve Vrinda's husbandly religion. He made Yogmaya throw a dead body outside Vrinda's house. Due to the veil of Maya, Vrinda saw the dead body of her husband. Knowing that her husband was dead, she fell on that dead body and started crying, at the same time a sage came to her and started saying daughter, don't be so sad. I put life in this body, the sage put life in it. Drowned in emotion, Vrinda embraced that body.

On the other hand, her husband Jalandhar, who was fighting with the gods, was killed as soon as Vrinda's chastity was destroyed. Later Vrinda came to know that this is deceit of God. Vrinda cursed Lord Vishnu for this deceit, just as you have separated my husband by deceit. In the same way, you too have to be born in the world of death to bear the separation of women. Saying this Vrinda became sati with her husband's mother. After this incident, Lord Vishnu incarnated as Lord Rama in Tretayuga and had to live in the separation of Sita for a few days. Vrinda had cursed Vishnu Ji that you have violated my chastity, so you will become of stone and that is the Shaligram form of Shri Hari. After this, Vrinda was sati with her husband, the place where she was sati was born a Tulsi plant. Lord Vishnu was very ashamed of his deceit. Hearing this, Vishnu said, 'O Vrinda! It is only because of your chastity that you will remain with me as a Tulsi.
